OTHER INFORMATION

Windjammer is a 72' gaff rigged schooner designed along the lines of the trading and fishing schooners that worked the Grand Banks in the North Atlantic and plied the east coast of America for 200 years.

These classic schooners, handled by small crews, formed the hub of the trading industry and the basis for a thousand books written on small sailing ships.

Windjammer is a replica of the famous schooner 'Integrity"' designed and built by Pete Culler, the grandfather of schooners, for the great Waldo Howland of Connecticut.

Launched in 1994, Windjammer is considered to be one of the most beautiful yachts ever built in Australia.

She epitomises the grandest of schooner qualities, sailing at speeds of 10 knots or more on the beam and broad reaches. With 2000 ft of sail area and raked masts she is indeed a spectacular sight.

Whilst built in the best traditions of her era, offering sailing as it was in yesteryear, that is where Windjammer's resemblance to her predecessors ends. Below decks she is luxuriously appointed displaying a timeless elegance. New Guinea rosewood adorns the interior with fittings reminiscent of a bygone era. Windjammer is a classic example of elegant lines and fine craftsmanship.

The large uncluttered decks are ideal for soaking up the warm tropical sunshine. The comfortable lounge area on deck is perfect for alfresco dining or just curling up with your favourite book. Good food is an essential ingredient in our guest's enjoyment of this cruise. Fresh, seasonal produce is used to prepare a delicious range of meals each day. Special diets can also be catered for.

Whether you want an active or relaxing holiday, the professional attentive crew will ensure you enjoy a memorable sailing experience in the Whitsunday Islands.

What the Guests Had To Say..

Reef Odyssey

Now that I am back at home in Scotland after a most exhilarating fortnight visit to Australia with my son I am writing to say that the highlight of our holiday was the cruise on the Reef Odyssey around the Whitsunday Islands and out to the Great Barrier Reef. It really was a trip of a lifetime, thanks to Captain Graeme and everyone of the ship crew who made us all feel so welcome from the moment we stepped aboard. In no time everyone was on first name terms as if we had all known each other for a lifetime.Everything was just superb, the accommodation, the cuisine and the general facilities were for us better than a five star hotel and no where would one find a friendlier personal service than that provided by all the crew. The programmed daily trips and activities were absolutely superb and quite unexpected. There was never a dull moment and, although none of us had met before, our fellow passengers were great companions who enjoyed every moment of the cruise. For us, the cruise was way beyond our expectation, with stunning scenery and unbelievably clear waters, particularly over the Barrier Reef with varieties of fish of all colours and sizes a number of turtles, manta rays and, to everyone surprise, even a whale surfaced. The two glass bottom boats were ideal for those of us who were not good snorkel swimmers and I was impressed by the expertise of all who helmed the boats. For Christopher and myself, our cruise on the Reef Odyssey was indeed the trip of a lifetime, thanks to Captain Graeme and all the crew who were so friendly, competent and helpful throughout. Cecil A Creber - UK

Highlight - Range of activities available was wonderful. Particularly enjoyed the snorkelling where Elvis resides and the visit to Whitehaven Beach. Food was sensational!!

General - Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience in the Whitsundays. I loved every minute of it and will definitely be recommending it to others. It was great to meet so many people from far and wide. A huge thank you to all the staff for their friendliness, fun and passion for the region. 10/10 Carol and Brian Mayoh - UK

Highlight - Nothing was too much trouble for any member of the crew and they were particularly attentive during all snorkelling activities.

General - On leaving the trip we both feel thoroughly relaxed and we put this down to the efforts of the crew. It is Difficult to imagine how the experience could be improved. Michael and Pat Kirston - UK

Highlight - Going to Whitehaven Beach seeing stingrays off the beach. later seeing turtles and finally watching the dolphins feeding at the back of the boat. A trip we will never forget.

General - All of the staff were brilliant and the quality and presentation of the food was A1. Great holiday, many thanks to you all.  Jenny and Peter Coulson - Australia

Windjammer

What a wonderful experience! The Windjammer is a magnificent vessel, well presented, comfortable and we all felt privileged to be on board. The Whitsunday scenery, the weather beyond all expectations. But above all, the ships complement, Nick, Kenny and Toby were absolutely great hosts, eager to please and nothing was too much trouble for them. What a team! Together they helped make the cruise the most enjoyable vacation experience of our lives and I am sure we will be talking of it for years to come.We would also like to pass our thanks to the office staff who assisted in arranging a surprise 60th birthday for my wife Kristina and the special kindnesses we all experienced from the company in making this a very special day for her.As a special note, the food was fabulous. Kenny is a genius in the galley and we are anxiously awaiting the publication of his recipe book, and perhaps TV series, on culinary matters at sea.We look forward to our next cruise on Windjammer, hopefully in the near future. Edward and Kristina Ryan - Germany

Highlight: snorkelling, great fishes and corals, sunshine, the food was fabulous and captain. Sailed with the sails and it was spectacular - impressive site. We will always have fond memories of this trip. Keep up the great work. You are such great people and you treat us travellers so well. Thanks for making great memories for us. Thanks to Kenny for the wonderful meals and humor. Thanks to Captain for the great sailing and lessons and thanks to Spencer for showing us good snorkelling spots and entertaining us. Harald and Ruth Huebscher - Canada

So far the BIGGEST highlight of our trip to Australia has been the three days and nights we spent on the Windjammer. We have returned from the most wonderful holiday and we wanted to thank you for your outstanding help, enthusiasm and professionalism. You efforts combined to give us the experience we had dreamed of, and more. Marion and Matt Cooper - Australia

Coral Trekker

Climbing to half mast , wedding on black island, snorkeling at Mantaray Bay, exploring caves, sailing, having drinks and good times with family and crew, the evening tarzan swing, sunrise. The crew were very professional and ensured that we were all having a good time and had everything we needed, all adapted quickly to individual personalities and showed the customer service skills which I have not experienced elsewhere. Thanks for an awesome and inspiring holiday and for making the olds wedding perfect. Serena Fischer - Australia - July 07

The crew became our friends onboard Coral Trekker and it was wonderful spending time with them snorkeling & fun & games on the Tarzan swing. Yes it was a bloody fantastic trip beautiful places, wonderful food & fantastic company. Thank you very much for making this a memorable experience for us. Leon Shorthouse & Sally Walbey - Australia - August 07

Too many highlights to list  it was all amazing. The rating excellent does not describe the trip  it was above and beyond excellent. Hung Luc & Susie Taylor - UK - September 07

We were on The Coral Trekker last week on a 3-day cruise around the Whitsundays. I just wanted to write to thank you for an amazing 3 days at sea and also to say that in Nick, Nigel and Nick you have a very proficient, organised and fun-loving crew that make the guests feel at home on board as well as making them feel as though they are constantly in control. Many happy memories from our time down under... Charles Chipchase

Snorkeling, Watching Whales, turtles, crew and guests were just perfect and we had a lot of fun together. Alexander Goertz & Katrin Suessbrich - Germany - Sept 07

Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vessel you charter is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of passengers allowed is indicated next to each vessel on this website. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A boat or trip supplier can refuse to hire a vessel to any person who is in their opinion unfit to skipper or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
